Oxford and Blenheim Palace
Up to 9 hours

Oxford is quite simply one of our loveliest cities, centred on the University's ancient colleges. Oxford was a centre of learning from the 12th century, and the first halls of residence were built as a response to rioting between town and gown, and the first colleges – University, Balliol and Merton – were established between 1249 and 1264. Our tour includes a visit to one of the colleges – Christchurch, perhaps, Oxford's biggest college which incorporates a cathedral.

Built by Vanburgh and given to the first Duke of Marlborough by a nation grateful for his military victories, Blenheim Palace was also the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill. Set in 2,100 acres landscaped by Capability Brown it has beautiful parkland, some of our most famous formal gardens and a magnificent lake. Inside, you'll find Grinling Gibbons carvings, ceilings by Nicholas Hawksmoor and superb collections of art, furniture and porcelain.
