Ian Murray enjoys taking visitors around London, from the main areas of interest to more 'local' attractions like Portobello Road, Camden Market and Abbey Road. He loves taking day trips out of town as well, to the pretty Cotswold villages around Stratford, for example, and our dramatic coastal sights like the White Cliffs of Dover. He likes to mix fact and anecdote in his commentaries, and firmly believes that a good lunch is the perfect stimulus for discussion, whether it's fish and chips at a traditional café, or sausages, mash and a beer in a friendly pub.
"I find that visitors to London are fascinated by our Royalty, politics and religion, and I like to concentrate on all three while guiding people through the important London sights. I also enjoy sharing our history with them – some of it is more incredible than fiction!"
Why Choose Ian?
"I want to begin by thanking you for the excellent guide that you are!! I learned so much, and you have great people skills... Thank you, too, for sharing your life so good-naturedly, and tolerating our questions about it. I don't know if you are a 'typical Englishman', but if all are as intelligent, thoughtful and articulate as you are, the country is in good shape."
