The Mountains of Mourne. © Nigel Silcock
You'll find natural and man-made beauty, culture, history and great 'craic' in the six counties of the province of Northern Ireland.
Wonder at the Giant's Causeway, built, according to legend, by Finn MacCool, so he could get across to Scotland to fight another giant, and the glorious Mourne Mountains. Discover Navan, the ancient seat of the Kings of Ulster, where you can experience life in an Iron-Age dwelling, and Mountsandell Woods, home to Ireland's oldest known human settlement. Belfast is packed with things to see and do, including the shipyard where Titanic was built. There's fabulous food, too, from fresh and healthy local produce to the famous 'Ulster Fry' (if your arteries can take it!), and, of course, the chance to enjoy Bushmills whiskey in its native habitat and visit the distillery.

Northern Ireland's lush countryside is among the prettiest and most unspoilt in the United Kingdom. Since the province is relatively compact, you can enjoy quaint farmland and historic monuments, soaring mountains, wild coastlines and a buzzy city in a single day.
